The Chronomat has earned iconic status with its bold and practical design that is instantly recognizable as a Breitling. The large 41mm stainless steel case features a polished finish that catches the eye and plays with the light. The bi-directional bezel, also made from polished steel, has a distinctive font and recognizable rider tabs. The screw-down pushers are important components in achieving the 300m water resistance rating that protects the Breitling B01 automatic column-wheel chronograph movement. With a power reserve of 70 hours and a vertical clutch, the watch is mechanically reliable.
The AB0140 dial perfectly complements the movement in terms of detail, depth, color, functionality, and unmistakable Breitling styling. The sub-registers, hands, thick set hour markers, and iconic winged logo match the boldness of the case. A rectangular central design dominates the base of the dial, and the 4:30 date window is strategically positioned on the edge. In short, the Chronomat is unmistakably a Breitling and stands out from any other watch.
